Red House The Client Founded in 1979, Red House is a mail order bookshop specialising in children's books for all ages, from babies to young adults. Red House produce a catalogue each month, featuring an introduction from a leading author and update their bright and colourful website on a regular basis to ensure that they are able to offer the very best books, hand-picked to ensure quality and value. The Objective The site, powered by IBM's WebSphere Commerce provides a robust web site that could scale and grow as load and functionality increased. The Solution Morpheus re-developed the Red House site, implementing customisable features, where needed, to ensure the site met all of the client requirements. The site is set out in clear categories defined by age groups. The site offers Internet-exclusive promotions, including a Book Ends sale. Once an order is placed, the e-Commerce application has the ability to integrate into Red House's back-end fulfillment system to reserve the stock and update the quantity remaining. Orders can then be generated from the available stock and placed in a shopping basket. Morpheus implemented The Reading Room for the site, which is a child-friendly area of the website where children can safely join the other young book lovers who make up our interactive community. Features include Book of the Month, competitions and a message board for discussing book opinions. |
